Deutsche Bank appoints Almeida as head of forex sales

Deutsche Bank has appointed Dan Almeida as global head of foreign exchange sales. In this newly created position, Almeida will be responsible for delivering Deutsche Bank's foreign exchange capabilities to all institutional and corporate clients.

Almeida, who is based in New York, will report jointly to Brian Reid, co-head of the institutional client group, and Jorge Calderon, global head of debt capital markets/corporate coverage.

Almeida has a nine-year history at Deutsche Bank and was among the founders of the firm’s foreign exchange business. He has held several senior positions in the group, including global head of forex trading, and was a member of the New York Foreign Exchange Committee for many years. Almeida has been on sabbatical from Deutsche Bank for the past year at Harvard Business School.

Almeida played a large part in the growth of Deutsche Bank's foreign exchange business when he worked in trading, according to Jim Turley, global head of foreign exchange.
