BoA names regional leadership positions

Bank of America (BoA) has appointed the regional heads that will take charge once its purchase of Merrill Lynch is complete, which is expected to be in the first quarter of 2009.

Nelson Chai, currently chief financial officer of Merrill Lynch, will be president of the Asia-Pacific region. He will be based in Hong Kong.

Jonathan Moulds, currently president of Europe, the Middle East abd Africa (EMEA) and Asia for Bank of America, will be president of EMEA and have regional responsibility for Latin America and Canada. He will be based in London.

They will report to John Thain, president of global banking, securities and wealth management, in the combined company.
