Lehman appoints head of investment management

Lehman Brothers has appointed Thierry Sciard as managing director, head of investment management for Europe, tasked with the strategic development of the investment management business in the continent.

Sciard will relocate from Paris to London, reporting jointly to Roger Nagioff, chief operating officer for Europe, and Ted Janulis, global head of investment management. He will be a member of both the firm’s European operating committee and the global investment management steering committee.

Prior to joining Lehman, Sciard was global head of capital markets at French investment bank Calyon, responsible for cash and derivatives in rates, FX, credit and commodities as well as equity derivatives. Alongside these operations, he also headed up Calyon’s alternative asset management company, Equalt, and Calyon Financial, the bank’s dedicated listed futures and options broker.
