Bank of Bahrain & Kuwait signs up to SunGard risk management product

Bank of Bahrain & Kuwait (BBK) has signed up to use SunGard Treasury Systems’ Quantum package to manage its back-office treasury operations.

BBK will interface Quantum with its existing trading and risk management and core banking system to form a straight-through processing system to trade money markets, foreign exchange swaps and derivatives.

“[Quantum] is an open system that interfaces well with BBK’s Windows NT infrastructure,” said Mahmoud Abdul Aziz, senior manager at BBK. “Quantum has a very sophisticated risk management engine, which is important,” he added. SunGard Treasury is an operating group of Pennsylvania- based risk management software company SunGard.
