Lehman appoints head of equity derivatives sales

Lehman Brothers has named Joseph Amato, ex-managing director and head of global equity research, as head of global equity sales, overseeing sales coverage of all cash, derivatives, convertibles and equity finance products worldwide.

Amato replaces John Wickham, who was moved to head Lehman's global equity derivatives group earlier this month.Amato has headed global research since 1999 after joining Lehman in 1994 as a high-yield bond analyst from securities firm Kidder Peabody.

Amato will be based in New York, and reports to Robert Shafir, co-head of Lehman's global equities division. He is replaced by Steven Hash, previously managing director of US equity research.
