Global Advisors names two managers for gas trading

New York commodity hedge fund Global Advisors has hired Adam Hoffman and Matthew Simsic as portfolio managers, aiming to increase its presence in the natural gas market.

Hoffman and Simsic both join from Zenith Capital & Trading, a commodities trading consultancy, where they were managing partners. They founded Zenith in 2003.

Prior to that, Hoffman spent three years as a senior trader for PG&E National Energy Group, trading gas and oil derivatives. Simsic was formerly head option trader at Exis Capital.

Danny Masters, a co-principal at Global Advisors, said: "Adam and Matthew have acquired the right combination of industry expertise and trading skills that is required in commodities trading, especially in the natural gas market where we believe that opportunities will remain abundant in coming months.”

Global Advisors trades in energy and metals derivatives in London and New York, and has $375 million under management.
