ABN Amro beefs up Asian distribution

ABN Amro plans to build up its Asian marketing effort by adding two staff to its derivatives sales and solutions group (DSSG) in Hong Kong.

The Dutch bank has hired Bernie Lau as head of corporate equity derivatives in Asia, where he will focus on hedging equity and equity-linked positions. Lau, who was previously at Citigroup, has 18 years' experience in derivatives structuring and sales in Asia.

ABN Amro also recruited Chris Hodgeman as a structurer of credit and fund derivatives for South Asian clients. He joins from TD Securities, and has over 15 years' experience in trading and client-facing roles in the Asia-Pacific region.

Hodgeman and Lau both report to Jamie McWilliam, ABN Amro's Asian head of DSSG.
