Deutsche promotes securitisation boss to head US global markets

Deutsche Bank has appointed Phil Weingord as head of global markets, North America.

The position - previously held by Charles von Arentschildt, who is now chairman of global markets in North America - oversees all fixed-income business including commodities, foreign exchange, securitised products, cash credit products and over-the-counter derivatives.

Both Weingord and Arentschildt report to Anshu Jain, head of global markets, and are based in New York.

“Phil has taken our secutitised products franchise from obscurity to a top position in the US and indeed globally in both market-share and revenue,” said Jain.

Weingord was previously head of the securitised products group, which is run by Rajeev Misra, global head of credit trading. He joined the bank from Credit Suisse First Boston in March 2000.
