BNP adds five to metal derivatives team

BNP Paribas, the Paris-based bank, has appointed five base and precious metal marketers to its commodity derivatives group.

Paul Sharp, Claus Pramer and Jim Gavilan join the firm in New York, while Christian Lusted and Leigh Ashton will be based in London. All five will report to Russell Plackett, head of metals.

Sharp, Pramer and Gavilan have all moved from metals at Johannesburg-based Standard Bank in London and New York. Ashton is from Standard Bank in London, while Lusted joins from London-based Amalgamated Metal Trading.

The appointees are part replacements as well as new additions.
