Koenig steps down from Prmia

David Koenig, chairman of the Professional Risk Managers' International Association (Prmia), has stepped down this week after three years in post.

Koenig's successor is Geoff Kates, the regional director of Prmia London. Robert Mark, previously chairman of the Blue Ribbon Advisory Panel, is the new vice-chairman.

Koenig has been chairman of Prmia since its foundation in 2002, when the association was set up by risk managers angry at the decision by the Global Association of Risk Professionals to move to a for-profit status.

Koenig is also the Prmia regional director for Chicago and Minneapolis. Before becoming Prmia chairman, he was managing director in charge of markets and institutional credit risk management at US Bancorp Piper Jaffray.
