Bear Stearns hires head of fixed-income trading in Japan

Bear Stearns has hired Raymond Wong as a senior managing director and head of fixed-income trading for Asia and Japan.

Based in Tokyo, he will be responsible for credit and fixed-income derivatives trading a well as cash bonds.

Wong joins the bank from Merrill Lynch’s South-east Asian equity derivatives and trading operation in Japan, where most recently he was head of the structured solutions and marketing group. Prior to this, he was head of credit derivatives trading for Deutsche Bank, also in Tokyo.

At Bear Stearns, Wong will report to Lenny Feder, senior managing director and head of fixed income in Japan.

“We are very pleased that Raymond has accepted this position. He is well respected in the market and brings with him an excellent track record," said Feder. "We are confident his extensive knowledge of the Asian markets will enable us to develop and expand our franchise."
