Ex-Tullett Prebon man joins City Index

Geoff Chapman, the former global head of information technology at London-based interdealer broker Tullett Prebon, has joined London-based spread-betting firm City Index.

Chapman, who left Tullett Prebon in June, has been appointed head of integration. He will head an integration programme for City Index’s acquisition of London-based spread-betting firm IFX Group.

Chapman told RiskNews: “The goal is to bring the businesses together. As with any business acquisition, there is a large complex programme, and I will be taking particular responsibility for the technology aspect.”

City Index is privately owned by IPG, Icap chief executive Michael Spencer’s investment company.

Chapman joined Tullett and Tokyo in 1998 as group IT director, and led the brokerage's IT effort throughout the process of Tullett's merger with rival Liberty, the acquisition of Tullett Liberty by Collins Stewart and its merger with Prebon Yamane.
