BNP Paribas fund unit selects Riskdata

The London-based fund-of-hedge-fund manager, BNP Paribas Fauchier Partners (BNPFP) and its joint venture partner, Fauchier Partners, have selected Riskdata’s FOFiX risk management system for their fund portfolio.

BNPFP, which has €196.5 billion under management, said it had looked at a number of possible risk management services but was not immediately available to comment on why it selected Paris-based Riskdata.

FOFiX was launched in November 2003. Riskdata chief executive Olivier Le Marois believes it is the only system that can provide complete risk assessment throughout the investment process.

The system provides risk transparency for investor reporting as well as risk management and risk projecting facilities using quantitative analysis, said le Marois.

The system is currently used by a number of market participants, including French bank Credit Agricole, which is now merging with Credit Lyonnais, and Canadian investment manager AGF.
