Lehman hires for global options

Lehman Brothers has hired two options traders in a continued expansion of its global currency options team, reports Risk’s sister publication FX Week . Lars Ahlgreen, formerly of Credit Agricole Indosuez, is set to join in London in April as a senior foreign exchange options trader, initially focusing on euro crosses. And Fidelis Oruche has joined the bank in Tokyo from AIG in Singapore, to trade G7 forex options on a proprietary basis.

Ahlgreen and Oruche both report to Pritpal Gill, London-based global head of foreign exchange options trading. Oruche also reports to Joe Rigby, head of forex for Asia, who is based in Tokyo.

A third options trader, Chirag Patel, has transferred from Lehman in Tokyo to London.

Meanwhile another three options traders, all from Merrill Lynch in London, are expected to join Lehman shortly, although neither bank has confirmed this move (FX Week, March 22).
