Fimat appoints Zeltwanger as US chief executive

International derivatives brokerage house, Fimat, has named Cynthia Zeltwanger, former general manager of the company’s Chicago office and chief operating officer of the US business, as the new chief executive of Fimat USA.

Zeltwanger replaces Patrice Blanc, who was named chairman and chief executive of international business, Fimat Group, in September. Zeltwanger joined Fimat in 1991 as general counsel and was appointed general manager of the company’s New York Midtown office in 1995. In 1997 she was named general manager of the Chicago office and in 2000 became chief operating officer of Fimat USA, Fimat’s US subsidiary.

“Cynthia will spearhead our US initiatives as we continue to increase our global presence and expand our offerings to include brokerage services spanning the spectrum of financial products, including listed and over-the-counter derivatives, cash fixed-income, foreign exchange and prime brokerage,” said Blanc.

Don Lindberg, deputy general manager of Fimat’s Chicago office, will succeed Zeltwanger.

Fimat is a member of 40 of the world’s derivatives exchanges.
