Morley makes fixed-income appointment

Morley Fund Management, the London-based subsidiary of Aviva Group, has appointed Mark Watts as head of global fixed income.

The company said his role will be to enhance Morley’s capability in creating global fixed-income products using a combination of G-7 sovereign, emerging market and corporate bonds, currency and other assets.

Watts joins the company from Baring Asset Management, where he worked for 18 years, most recently as head of aggregates.

He will have three global fixed-income fund managers and a portfolio analyst reporting to him directly. The company has already hired eight staff for its fixed-income desk this year, bringing the total up to around 50.
