Risk managers still seeking empowerment

Given the trials and tribulations of the past two years, it would seem logical the opinions of risk managers would be widely sought as financial institutions and regulators seek to address the failings that led to the crisis. But, according to panellists on a chief risk officer (CRO) round table at the Risk Europe 2009 conference in Frankfurt last month, risk professionals still do not enjoy anything like the level of influence as other business managers within many organisations.
