National bank supervisors must improve co-operation, says FSB

Despite progress on supervising systemically important banks, relationships between supervisors across borders are still lukewarm

More work is needed to encourage effective co-operation between jurisdictions supervising global banks, the Financial Stability Board (FSB) warned on May 26.

A peer review team organised by the FSB to examine jurisdictions' supervisory frameworks for systemically important banks found "significant steps" had been taken, but identified several areas that could be improved.
