US regulations may have hurt RBS Sempra deal

JP Morgan has reportedly amended plans to purchase RBS Sempra Commodities, excluding the North American portion of the business.

The bank has been rumoured to be considering a deal to purchase Royal Bank of Scotland's (RBS) share of the RBS Sempra Commodities joint venture since late last year. However, SparkSpread has reported JP Morgan now wants to leave the North American part of the business out of the deal.

A spokesperson for JP Morgan was unable to comment on the reports. A spokesperson for RBS Sempra Commodities did not immediately return a call requesting comment.
