Changes to US derivatives proposals to be debated this week

An amendment detailing significant changes to proposed over-the-counter derivatives legislation in the US is set to be debated in the US House of Representatives on Wednesday.

The amendment, submitted on December 7 by Barney Frank, chairman of the House Committee on Financial Services, and Collin Peterson, chairman of the House Committee on Agriculture, is a reconciled version of two previous bills submitted by both committees.

The Over-the-Counter Derivatives Markets Act of 2009 was submitted
