Reddy appointed chairman of BIS ACC

Yaga Reddy has been appointed chairman of the BIS Asian Consultative Council

Yaga Reddy has been appointed chairman of the Asian Consultative Council (ACC) by the board of directors of the Bank for International Settlements (BIS). Reddy is governor of the Reserve Bank of India.

The appointment will run for two years, from March 2007. Reddy succeeds Zhou Xiaochuan, governor of the People's Bank of China. Zhou chaired the Council from March 2005 to February 2007.
