BoE Director Speaks On Need For Stronger Regulatory Co-Operation

Michael Foot, executive director of the Bank of England, has made a plea for increased co-operation between international regulatory authorities to prevent systemic risk crises in the financial markets.

Foot's call was made in a speech at last week's annual general meeting of the International Swaps and Derivatives Association (ISDA) in San Francisco.

He cites cases such as the collapse of Barings Futures Singapore and losses at Daiwa Bank's New York operation as examples of how regulatory
