Evolution of hedge fund industry matched by consistency in index provision

Hedge Fund Research sees opportunities for hedge funds in emerging markets, particularly in Russia and Eastern Europe. It also predicts EU regulations could negatively impact Ucits hedge funds.

Hedge Fund Research, which began its indexing business in 1992, has grown with the industry. As one of the first to provide hedge fund indexes, coupled with its ambition to "expand the usefulness of them", the company has helped popularise indexes across the board, according to its president Kenneth Heinz.
