Gunvor’s David Fyfe speaks to Gillian Carr about his fascination with all facets of the oil sector and the importance of remaining flexible and open to all possibilities when analysing markets
Similiarly to many in the oil industry, David Fyfe began his career in the upstream sector. Trained as a geologist, his first involvement was in the North Sea working with offshore producers and service companies looking at safety and technical procedures for offshore installations. Working in the field gave him a taste of the wide-ranging influence of the oil industry and he was driven to become involved at a higher, macro level.
