As Brenda Boultwood, the former chief risk officer of Constellation Energy, sets off in a new career direction, she tells Alexander Osipovich about managing risk through tough times
Brenda Boultwood is no stranger to risk. Having worked as chief risk officer (CRO) of one of the largest US power producers, Constellation Energy, during its 2008 liquidity crunch – which nearly pushed the company into bankruptcy – she is a seasoned veteran who has earned the respect of her peers and served on the boards of various risk management trade associations. So when she left Constellation in June, it appeared that she would have her pick of CRO jobs.
