Toby O’Connor has been appointed the new CEO of the Islamic Bank of Asia

Toby O'Connor now CEO of Islamic Bank of Asia

The Islamic Bank of Asia (IBA), which is majority-owned by Singapore bank DBS, has appointed Toby O'Connor as its chief executive.

O'Connor, who will be based in the bank's Singapore headquarters, will focus on growing IBA's investment banking operations, especially capital markets and private equity, in line with its renewed focus on fee-income businesses.

He joins from JP Morgan, where he was head of Middle East and North Africa sovereign wealth funds.
