UBS to appoint HKMA veteran Yam to its board

Joseph Yam was also named by sovereign wealth fund China Investment Corp as an one of its international advisers early this month.

UBS has nominated Joseph Yam, former chief executive of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, for election to its board of directors at the bank's annual general meeting.

UBS said Yam's presence will expand the geographic diversity of the board and provide additional impetus to the bank's growth of wealth management businesses in the Asia-Pacific region. With Yam's election to the board, the maximum number of UBS's 12 seats will be filled.
