NYSE hires bond chief

The New York Stock Exchange has hired John Holman as vice-president of its fixed-income division. Holman is to oversee the expansion of the exchange’s fixed-income trading business and will report to Robert McSweeney, senior vice-president of the exchange’s Competitive Position group.

Holman joins the NYSE from Piper Jaffray, where he expanded the corporate bond trading desk and implemented a new trading and clearing platform, which integrated the firm’s institutional sales and
