AIG Financial Products is setting up a cross-product derivatives desk in Hong Kong and has hired Aditya Rana, a former executive director at Morgan Stanley, to establish a CDO structuring platform. AIG has had a long-running Japanese business, for which it launched a structured private placement desk in Tokyo by hiring a team from JP Morgan last year.
