ABN Amro adds to European forex team

ABN Amro has hired Eric Murciano to its institutional foreign exchange sales team. He will be responsible for the Dutch bank’s foreign exchange sales - including options - to French financial institutions.

Based in London, Murciano will report to Mark Sweeting, ABN Amro's head of UK institutional foreign exchange sales. His appointment is part of ABN AMRO’s push to corner the rapid growth of institutional foreign exchange business in continental Europe, said Robert Rodman, global head of foreign exchange sales at ABN Amro.

The Dutch bank hired Murciano away from AIG – the US insurance and financial services group – where he held a similar role in Paris. His appointment follows a series of hires by ABN Amro to its foreign exchange trading and sales desks this year.

In April, it hired three traders for its option trading desks in Amsterdam, Chicago and Singapore.
