CDC Ixis hires two ex-Gen Re staff

CDC Ixis Capital Markets has hired two ex-Gen Re staff to its structured derivatives and derivatives marketing teams.

The French bank has hired Phoebus Theologites as director, derivatives trading and structuring. Theologites will primarily focus on the expansion of CDC's complex equity derivatives business across Europe. He will report jointly to Mohamed El Babsiri, global head of structured derivatives trading, and Guido Rauch, global head of derivatives marketing.

CDC Ixis also hired Emanuele Di Stefano as vice-president, financial products group. Di Stefano will be responsible for marketing derivatives products to Italy across all asset classes, and report to Guido Rauch.

The hires are part of CDC Ixis' strategy of selective expansion in the trading, structuring and marketing of derivatives products across Europe, the bank said. Theologites and Di Stefano will be based in London. Both left similar positions in the near-defunct derivatives team at Gen Re Securities at the end of March.
