SG announces new oil and gas head for China

Bruce Hu has joined SG, the investment banking arm of Société Générale, in Beijing as vice-president of oil and gas.

Hu joined the group this week and will be responsible for developing the oil and gas sector throughout China. Hu will report to Marc Poirier, managing director and country manager for China.

Hu joins after eight years at Credit Agricole Indosuez in Shanghai, most recently as vice-president in project and structured finance. Before that, he was at the China Construction Bank for six years.

“SG has an ambitious business plan for developing its activity within Asian oil and gas clients around three key areas of expertise of its corporate and investment banking division, euro capital markets, derivatives and structured finance,” said Philippe Fournier, head of oil and gas for Europe and Asia.
