Isda's Handjinicolaou moves to Hellenic Capital Markets Commission

George Handjinicolaou, the deputy chief executive officer and regional director for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) at the International Swaps and Derivatives Association, has joined the Hellenic Capital Markets Commission (HCMC).

He has served as Isda's primary representative in EMEA since July 2007. At the HCMC, based in Athens, Handjinicolaou will take up the role of vice-chairman. He will report to the chairman, Anastasios Gabrielides.

Eraj Shirvani, Isda's chairman and the head of fixed income for EMEA at Credit Suisse, commented on Handjinicolaou's departure: "In particular, we would like to recognise his success in co-ordinating and advancing industry efforts to improve operational and trading infrastructure measures, where he has been a key force in bringing together participants across the industry and in our dialogue with the regulatory community."

Isda said it has started to look for a replacement for Handjinicolaou.
