Jorion joins Paamco

California-based Pacific Alternative Asset Management Company (Paamco) has hired Philippe Jorion as a director in its risk management group.

Jorion's previous academic research has centred on derivative instruments and value-at-risk. At Paamco - a fund-of-hedge funds specialist - he will be responsible for analysing and valuing complex securities and new markets.

He is currently on leave from the Paul Merage School of Business at the University of California, Irvine, where he is a Chancellor’s professor in finance.
