BNP Paribas expands structured credit team

Olivier Vigneron has joined BNP Paribas as global head of structured credit risk management in London. The move is part of a raft of appointments at the French bank as it seeks to expand its structured credit business in the hedge fund and institutional investor sectors.

Vigneron previously worked as head of structured credit trading at Unicredit Banca Mobiliare, and replaces Olivier Chermette, who will now head the arbitrage proprietary trading group. In their new roles, both will report to BNP Paribas’ global head of structured credit trading and arbitrage Stephane Delacote.

On the trading side of the business, the bank has also poached two senior traders from rival Société Générale. Laurent Samama takes up the post of senior structured credit trader looking at bespoke risks, and Salah Amraoui that of senior structured credit trader in complex pricings. Both will be based in London and report to Antoine Savine, global head of rates and credit derivatives research.

Sebastien Hitier from Lehman Brothers and Jean-David Fermanian of the hedge fund CooperNef also join the structured credit research desk. Meanwhile, in Japan, Kazue Takagaki and Kenichi Ii join BNP Paribas from RBS and Morgan Stanley respectively. They will work on structuring deals.
