BNP Paribas hires European securities lending head

BNP Paribas has appointed David Lonsdale to the newly created position of European head of securities lending, within its equities and derivatives business.

Lonsdale joins from Goldman Sachs in London, where he has been an executive director in equity finance since 2000.

In his new role at BNP Paribas, he continues to be based in London and will have a particular focus on hedge funds. He reports to Shaun Wainstein, the bank’s head of equities and derivatives in London, and to François Artigala, global head of securities lending.
