Paul Leder has rejoined the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) as director of its office of international affairs, which advises on cross-border enforcement and regulatory matters and also co-ordinates with regulatory authorities outside the US. Leder joins as the US regulator gears up for a key year of rule-making, in particular around the regulation of security-based swaps, which primarily covers single-name credit default swaps and some stock-linked contracts.
