Iceland still investigating over 70 crisis cases
Most of the cases linked to the 2008 crisis have not reached court yet, says Iceland’s special prosecutor.
More than four years after the Icelandic banking crisis, the country's office of the special prosecutor still has "between 70 and 80 cases" under investigation, according to Ólafur Hauksson, Iceland's special prosecutor in charge of investigating the aftermath of the crisis.
Since the office was established in February 2009, only seven cases related to the country's bank crisis have reached court, revealed Hauksson in an interview with Operational Risk & Regulation.
