Adoboli pleads 'not guilty' to UBS fraud charges

Kweku Adoboli, the former UBS trader accused of losing $2.25 billion of the Swiss bank's money, pleaded not guilty today to all four charges laid against him.

The plea hearing was held at Southwark Crown Court in front of Judge Alistair McCreath. Adoboli spoke only to confirm his name and to enter pleas of ‘not guilty' to two charges of fraud by abuse of position and two charges of false accounting stretching back to 2008.

McCreath set the start of the trial – expected to last for up to eight
