EC's Barnier unveils new college approach to bank crisis resolution

European Commission proposals of extensive new powers at odds with Basel vision of colleges, and Cebs' new assessment of success of information-sharing initiatives

Today, the European Commission launched its proposals to enhance the continent's banking regulatory framework. At its heart is a 'European culture of prevention' built around supervisory and resolution colleges, said Michel Barnier, European commissioner for internal market and services, speaking at a press conference for the legislative initiative.
