Basel II looks set for post-crisis overhaul

BASEL - Chunks of Basel II are expected to be reworked or overhauled in the coming 18 months, as fallout from the global financial crisis continues to transform the global regulatory landscape.

On some fronts, it is the industry that is stirring up debate. The pro-cyclicality of the operational risk capital framework under Basel II, and the perceived failure of op risk modelling to predict and mitigate much of the recent financial crisis, has damaged the appeal of the advanced measurement
