Sex in the spotlight

LONDON – The spotlight has been on turned on the employment of women in the UK financial sector again, with the launch of a high-profile sex discrimination case by six female employees of investment bank Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein (DrKW).

The claims coincide with the release of a survey in late January into the employment of women in the UK financial sector by recruitment firm Alexander Mann. It found that the number of experienced female bankers was 'limited', and that women are more likely to be found in sales than in trading and research.
