Time for buy-side IT push

Technology developments in the financial services industry have tended to take place in fits and starts, and to varying degrees among different segments. The sell-side has traditionally been the first to take up new technology, since they have the underlying trading volumes that support quicker return on investment (ROI) for technology solutions geared towards automation.

The buy-side, on the other hand, has not been as quick to adopt new technology, since, except for the largest of firms
