MAS consults on Basel

SINGAPORE – The Monetary Authority of Singapore published a consultation paper that outlines proposed rules and guidelines on parts of its Basel II implementation programme in August.

The proposed rules and guidelines cover the scope of application, the constituents of regulatory capital under Basel II, and the simpler approaches for calculating capital requirements for operational risks. The regulator plans to issue other elements of the Basel II computation rules and guidelines for consultation over the course of this year and the first half of next year.
