Technological innovations have played a critical role in the development of the global financial markets in the past decade, affecting not only the way that stocks and bonds are traded, but also the underlying structure of the market.

Electronic systems provide clear benefits to market participants, but they are not always welcomed with open arms. Although equity market participants have quickly embraced technology solutions, the same cannot be said for fixed income.
