Single-family offices are undergoing drastic remodelling to emerge in the image of the younger generation who now controls them. The next generation of family office leaders is making major operational changes, reports Margie Lindsay.

The next generation of family offices is taking more control of structures and assuming more management control. The people who are next in line to take over existing single-family offices (SFOs) are making wholesale changes to operations, the range of services and personnel.

This is revealed in a survey(1) of nearly 100 SFOs by Rothstein Kass. The younger generation is motivated by a desire to increase professionalism and improve performance of SFOs.
