BT aims for single-A status

Comments such as “incomprehensible”, a response to Moody’s downgrade of BT to Baa1 from single-A status, will no longer be heard ringing across the halls of BT Centre, as Andy Longden, BT’s group treasurer, has left the UK telecoms group. But his memory may still be lingering, as BT’s chairman Christopher Bland echoed Longden’s commitment to a single-A rating when BT reported its first-half results last month.
