Q1. How do you think that financial players, such as investment banks and hedge funds, have changed the nature of the energy markets?
I think they’ve had quite a profound effect on the markets over the last 10 years. If you think back to the merchant energy crisis, the market was shaped at that time by the rush of the banks to fill the gap left by the merchants, particularly in terms of continuing to supply liquidity to those markets.
