Liquefied natural gas (LNG)
LNG is compressed natural gas (CNG) (mainly methane and ethane), which – unlike liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) – is reduced to a liquid form by cooling it to -259° Farenheit. The volume of LNG is 1/600th of its volume as gas vapour. It is odourless, colourless, non-toxic and non-corrosive. LNG is much easier and more cost-effective to store and to transport, especially where pipelines do not exist.
