Argentina may be the largest producer of natural gas in South America, but as the largest consumer as well, its appetite for the commodity has left domestic production struggling to meet demand of late. The country is home to what is thought to be one of the world’s largest shale gas reserves, but unconventional production has been hindered by low domestic gas prices that have come about due to government price caps. As a result, the government has been forced to import liquefied natural gas
